CONCEPT
Chronoderm, a range of products for both professional and home use, rich in active ingredients, which help to rebalance cell regeneration, counteract the action of free radicals, to restore a more vital, fresh and luminous appearance day after day to the face. Skin aging is due to two different types of factors: chronological and environmental.
Chronological aging is due to genetic factors; it begins after the age of 25, to manifest itself visibly from the age of 40 onwards. At the level of the epidermis, this form of aging occurs with the reduction of the proliferative capacity of the cells of the basal membrane and its consequent thinning. It also decreases the number of Langerhans cells, cells of the immune system present in the epidermis, as well as the activity of melanocytes. At the level of the dermis, the number and functionality of fibroblasts is reduced: they respond less and less to the endogenous factors that stimulate their proliferative activity and the biosynthesis of macromolecules, responsible for giving tone and elasticity to the skin.
Environmental skin aging has photoaging as its main element. The latter can be defined as a degenerative process caused by prolonged exposure to sunlight. Photoaging is expressed with more accentuated skin manifestations in relation to some aspects, such as skin hyperpigmentation which, initially, shows itself through the formation of freckles, subsequently evolving into real age spots. Among the other environmental factors responsible for skin aging, various types of pollutants, as well as harmful and irritating substances, can be distinguished. All these factors induce the formation of free radicals and the reduction of enzymes that have antioxidant properties.
